The Perfect Summer Dress

Gingham is a print that is slowly creeping it's way into my wardrobe. Whenever  I tried the print in the past I felt like I was wearing a picnic blanket. Or I was dressing too preppy (a style I actively avoided for years). Either way, I'm coming around to the whimsical print. I realized recently that I own this dress, a pair of pants and a bathing suit in the print! So, I guess you could say it's definitely growing on me.

I remember thrifting with my mom last summer and she convinced me to try on this dress. I was a bit hesitant because I thought it was too feminine but boy was I wrong! This dress is perfect. The only reason I enjoy summer right now is because I have a reason to wear this dress (and go to the pool - let's be real). But mostly it's this dress that is making the summer a little more bearable.

I kept the rest of my outfit pretty simple because I wanted the dress to speak for itself. So to make it a little bit more casual I threw on my trusty white sneakers from Target. I got them last summer as well but it might be time to retire them after this summer... they are getting a little dingy! I also can't stop wearing my star chocker I found a few weeks ago. You could say this outfit is a combination of all of my recent obsessions.
