What to wear in 100+ degrees

I was hoping we would escape the boiling 100+ degree heat (37 c) this year but alas... we didn't. This past week has been pretty brutal. So, this dress is pretty much the only thing I want to wear! It's flowy, comfortable, and pretty thin. Perfect for this time of year (hell let's be real here).

I mentioned in my last post that I did quite a lot of thrifting a few weekends ago. This dress was one of my finds and I love it. It was actually in the shirt section of goodwill so I got it for only $3.50! What a steal considering it's an Alice x UO (urban outfitters) collaboration! This was a piece I considered selling but it's just so comfy!

To beat the heat,  I woke up pretty early on Saturday morning and shot these by my apartment complex. I think I've finally found my groove with blogging again. 1 - 2 posts a week is so much more manageable and better for my crazy schedule right now! Starting in August, I'll be taking a sign language class at the local university here and I am so excited! I'm taking a casual one right now but I really like it so I'm going to continue learning.

I also added a new addition to my household so you'll have to wait and hear about that one... but let's just say she is cute and fluffy!! I actually have a lot of exciting content coming your way in the next few weeks. Hooray for feeling inspired again! But anyways...

Blending In

I know I've mentioned it a few times on here but I used to sell a lot of used clothing online. I mean, a lot. And thanks to my friend, Lauren, I've gotten back into it. She's starting up an instagram shop and it really made me want to get back into thrifting! It makes me really happy to get back into something I truely loved all of last year.

So, I went a little crazy this past weekend. But that just means that I'll be filming a thrift haul this week! I'm also thinking about filming my Sephora PLAY box unboxing. Would anyone be interested in that?

But the reason I bring this up is that I'm thinking about selling the dress I'm wearing.

I find it a bit uncomfortable to wear in the blazing Arkansas humidity. But the print is so lovely! I picked it up while I was in Montreal but it just not breathable! But that might be better for someone who lives in a slightly cooler climate.

I also think this will be the last time I'll be wearing these slip-ons. They are falling apart, which makes me so sad. Actually, most of my shoes these days are falling apart -- literally! The soles are coming off, they've got holes in them, or I've just worn them entirely too much.

My sweater was a hand-me-down from my Aunt in Georgia. It's actually a j.crew cardigan and I've gotten a surprising amount of wear out of it!

Dress: H&M
Cardigan: j.crew (hand-me-down)
Shoes: Target (old)

Have you gotten back into a hobby lately?
Let me know!

New and Vintage

Things have been a little quiet around here. My weekends lately have been filled with family visiting, day trips around the state, and lots of running! I'm training for my first 25k at the end of this month (!) so most of my Saturday's lately have been taken up with long runs (10+ miles). I think my 25k will be pretty difficult considering it's in the middle of the summer (in Arkansas!) in the dark!! But hopefully, it will be fun?

Thankfully, I carved out some time early on Sunday morning to take some outfit photos!

The reason I mentioned my weekends though has to do with this outfit! On Friday I saw the band Little Tybee. They're an Atlanta-based band with a whole lot of sound! Whenever I see a smaller band like this, I love to support them by either buying a CD or t-shirt. It was a really intimate show so we got to chat with the band afterward. It was fun to chat about Atlanta and some of the bands I know there. Plus, they had t-shirts in x-smalls! That never happens.

My shoes are new as well. I've come to realize that thrift store shoes probably aren't cutting it anymore... every single pair of shoes I own right now is falling apart! It's a problem because finding shoes in my size is so hard. But I found these in the kids' section of Target. They make me feel like a ballerina, which is always fun!

Shirt: Little Tybee Band t-shirt (not online)
Skirt: Vintage
